Customization and maximum control over availability can only be guaranteed if all connections and underlying services are managed in-house. Fundaments can handle this management for you. Fundaments has access to the NDIX Enschede digital infrastructure at multiple locations across the country and offers various IT services via this marketplace. Any party connected with their own NDIX connection (Layer 2 Ethernet) can utilize these services. All Fundaments services, such as Infrastructure as a Service, Back-up as a Service, and Disaster Recovery as a Service, are easy to connect. Fundaments manages all connections and underlying services in-house, ensuring that both customization and maximum control over availability can be guaranteed.
Direct connection
Through the NDIX network, it is possible to access your Fundaments Cloud services without having to use public networks like the internet. It is also possible to directly access your data center-based services, such as Fundaments Infrastructure as a Service. Back-up as a Service and Disaster Recovery as a Service are also highly suitable via this connection, precisely because bandwidths are guaranteed and network performance is highly predictable. All connections to the Fundaments network are made via a 10 Gbps link, and all connections on the network are redundant.
The growing NDIX network ensures that more and more locations in the Netherlands and Germany are being connected, allowing Fundaments services to be deployed even more widely. The current network map can be viewed on the NDIX website.
A reliable connection
The NDIX network is a Layer 2 Ethernet infrastructure. It uses VLANs (802.1q) to facilitate the exchange of data and service traffic between connected users, with Fundaments being one of the users on the network. The guaranteed availability of a VLAN is 24/7, with a minimum uptime of 99.9%. This availability can be further increased by using multiple links and/or VLANs. Fundaments connects the VLAN-based connection directly to the network, making it immediately compatible with Fundaments services. This allows your office location to be linked directly to Fundaments data centers via high-bandwidth, secure connections. All services available within those data centers can then be used without the need for further configuration or additional (network) equipment.
Monitoring by Fundaments
The connection to NDIX Enschede is monitored 24/7 by the Fundaments Cloud Experts. All connected equipment within the Fundaments network is redundant. Furthermore, Fundaments utilizes multiple NDIX connection points, ensuring that service remains available even in the event of a local NDIX outage. The network segments are connected multiple times using 10 Gbps links. This ensures that the entire chain is secured from the NDIX connection point within Fundaments, providing the network with at least the same level of availability.
