Magenta chooses Fundaments for reliability under the hood

Imagine you are a firefighter running into a burning building with five colleagues. You need to: A) know what you are doing, and B) be able to trust the people next to you. Safety Regions in the Netherlands and Belgium organize recurring competency programs for this purpose, for both professional staff and volunteers. For the planning and coordination of these programs, they rely on software from the Hengelo-based company Magenta MultiMedia Tools (MMT). When asked how that software contributes to the competency of fire departments, Tim van den Brink, R&D Manager at Magenta MMT, explains: "The content of the training programs is, of course, up to the Safety Regions themselves. What we do is ensure that everything surrounding them runs smoothly, which is a specialized field in itself. You are dealing with various roles, training sessions, and obligations that are constantly changing. You need to be able to plan, record, and account for all of that effectively. The reports received by the central dispatch center in Driebergen are also recorded using our software. The Safety Regions use this data for evaluation and payroll purposes. Furthermore, Belgium uses the Magenta system for permit applications."

‘Another example that illustrates our good relationship with Fundaments is the situation surrounding Broadcom and VMware. Due to changes in the licensing structure, our costs were suddenly at risk of rising significantly. Even though our contract was still active, Fundaments was willing to brainstorm on how to handle it differently. This led to a redesign of our environment: we switched to a different architecture and adjusted the contract. On balance, our costs even decreased. But what matters most to me is that we were truly on the same side. There was room to maneuver, and we found a solution together. That says a lot about how our partnership works."‍

"People make the difference," Tim concludes. "When something happens, I get someone on the line who knows us: our environment, our history, and how we work. That might sound obvious, but it isn't. There are other parties where you end up in an anonymous helpdesk and have to explain the situation over and over again. Not here. Especially when it matters, you want to act quickly with someone who understands the technical details. You never feel like you're a bother; instead, they immediately start thinking and acting with you. That provides peace of mind, and for us, that is what it ultimately comes down to."
