Internet from Fundaments
To ensure internet connections are isolated from other users and that sufficient bandwidth is available, various Cloud Internet Services are offered from Fundaments IaaS services. These can be linked to an Edge Device: an NSX Edge or FortiGate Next Generation Firewall, but can also be connected directly as an external Cloud network in a Virtual Data Center (VDC) or collocated equipment. Fundaments handles the internet routing and provides a dedicated connection via VLAN, in which an IPv4 or IPv6 block is routed.
We have implemented our connectivity redundantly across the various Fundaments data center locations. Each location uses a mix of internet providers that together can offer more than 40Gbps of internet traffic. Fundaments has specifically chosen two locations in the Amsterdam region, and specifically Nikhef, as major carriers also handle their traffic there, including traffic to the United Kingdom and the United States. By connecting directly with parties that handle global traffic, you get low latency to and from the internet, ensuring you have a fast connection.
