NetApp File Storage
A flexible and secure cloud foundation for your application data, that is Storage as a Service (STaaS) from Fundaments. With Storage as a Service, we offer a platform concept for both (NetApp) file storage and (Dell) object storage with all the benefits of a physical data center, complemented by the advantages of scalability and convenience.
Flexible
NetApp makes it easy to scale storage capacity up and down, without major restructuring or downtime.
High-quality data center locations
Offered exclusively from high-quality Tier 3+ data center locations in the Netherlands.
SnapLock and SnapMirror
This allows companies to replicate data to one of Fundaments' other data center locations, which also makes it easy to back up data, providing extra protection against data loss.
Cost savings
NetApp file storage uses advanced deduplication and compression techniques that significantly optimize storage capacity.
What is NetApp file storage?
NetApp file storage offers a powerful, flexible, and cost-efficient solution for organizations looking for reliable data protection, high performance, and scalability.
File storage is the most well-known type of storage. With file storage, data is saved in files that can be accessed via folders with a specific file structure. Every time you access these documents, whether via your hard drive, computer, or server, you are using file storage.

Various NetApp storage solutions
NetApp file storage comes in different types, each with its own performance characteristics, suited to the workload for which Fundaments Storage as a Service is used. These are:
1. Archive-type file storage. Archive file storage is used for large volumes of archive data that do not require frequent access.
2. Regular-type file storage. Regular file storage is used for generic workloads, such as domain controllers and application servers with limited IO requirements.
3. Fast-type file storage. Fast file storage is used for performance workloads: applications used by many users.
4. Fast Plus-type file storage. Fast Plus file storage is used for write-intensive workloads, such as databases or applications with a heavy logging component.
SnapLock and SnapMirror technology
To secure data, NetApp uses snapshot technology. All data blocks are made 'immutable' at the moment the snapshot (SnapLock) is created. To store local snapshots at a second location and thus secure data outside a production data center, it is possible to replicate a copy of the snapshots (SnapMirror) to a second NetApp platform.
100% control over your data
Want to be certain where your data is located? The sovereign Cloud from Fundaments can guarantee that. This ensures your data resides on Dutch soil, is managed by a Dutch party—Fundaments—and provides you with full control over all your data. Fundaments' Private Cloud solutions form the foundation for a solid and reliable IT infrastructure, whether at your location or ours in the Netherlands. Our data centers are spread across seven locations in the East, Central, and West of the Netherlands. These are all Tier 3+ locations: the highest achievable class for a Dutch data center at this time. At a Tier 3+ data center, every aspect of security is covered, including guaranteed power supply, intrusion protection, water and fire detection, and climate control.
