Developing IT talent in Twente
To achieve this, we work closely with Saxion University of Applied Sciences, creating challenging and relevant project assignments several times a year to involve their ICT students in the latest IT developments. We mentor these students, working together toward a successful and, above all, educational completion of their assignment.
Over the next two months, we will be working with Mitchel, Tom, Jordi, and Vincent from Saxion Deventer. They are fourth-year ICT students specializing in ITSM. Yesterday, they visited our office to meet their mentors, Larik-Jan and Arnoud. As it turned out, the four had to immediately step into their roles as contractors and conduct an intake interview to better understand their client's (Fundaments) needs.
For this assignment, we are playing the fictional role of an app developer, having created an app for doctors and psychologists that contains their patients' health status. However, there is a requirement for the database containing the actual patient files: these files must be stored in the patient's country of origin. It is up to the contractors (the students) to propose a solution and implement the design. This project covers topics such as cloud technology, multi-cloud deployment, security, and compliance. Additionally, the goal is to actually build a prototype based on their proposed solution.
All in all, a very challenging yet interesting assignment for Mitchel, Tom, Jordi, and Vincent. Good luck, guys! We are very curious to see the results.
