From data migration to data control: gaining control over information management with AI

This session focuses on a real-world case from the Municipality of Heerenveen. The municipality was looking for a partner to carry out a complex data migration while also gaining greater control over its information management. With the help of AI-driven tooling, the migration was not only accelerated but also immediately used to clean up and optimize data.

In addition, the session addresses a broader, widely recognized challenge within municipalities: the lack of insight into (sensitive) data and the complexities surrounding laws and regulations. In this session, we demonstrate how smart technology can make data transparent, structured, and classified, enabling you to measurably improve your information management and better align with compliance requirements.

Ronald Hofstra is an Advisor in Information Management and ICT at the Municipality of Heerenveen and plays a central role in digital transformation within the organization. As project leader and driving force behind the data migration and classification program, he focuses on future-proofing information management, governance, security, and digital workflows.

With extensive experience in information management, Microsoft 365, AI applications, and municipal digitalization, he connects strategy with practical execution. Ronald is known for his pragmatic approach, broad organizational knowledge, and ability to successfully deliver complex transformation programs.
