While we usually end the year by visiting our clients to thank them with a gift, we had to come up with a COVID-safe solution this year. We decided to donate the amount we normally spend on corporate gifts to Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Enschede.
Raoul Werger, CEO at Fundaments: “Fundaments’ slogan is ‘GO BEYOND. BE THE BEST,’ and what better charity fits that than Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Enschede? Thanks in part to our donation, they can help children in the region reach their full potential in 2021 by providing them with the right resources. Unfortunately, it isn’t a given that all children can take sports, music, or art lessons. This is crucial for talent development, and we are happy to contribute to it.”
Stichting Leergeld Enschede (the foundation that oversees Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Enschede) aims to ensure that children (aged 4 to 17) in the Municipality of Enschede are not excluded from extracurricular activities due to a lack of funds. They work with various organizations and institutions in Enschede to reach as many families as possible. For children from low-income families, they cover membership fees, tuition, and in some cases, necessary equipment. This allows them to participate in activities like soccer practice, guitar lessons, or swimming lessons.
Jorrit van der Linden, coordinator at Stichting Leergeld Enschede: “We currently help 3,000 unique children per year, and with Fundaments’ donation of €2,000, we can increase that number even further. We are incredibly happy with this! Especially in this COVID era, the gap between disadvantaged and advantaged families is becoming more visible and tangible. As schools focus more on digital learning, it is painfully clear that some students cannot fully participate because they lack a computer, for example. We help children 'keep up and stay involved' here as well. Thank you, Fundaments!”
Due to tightened COVID restrictions, the oversized check could unfortunately not be presented in person to Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Enschede. As soon as it is possible again, it will certainly be handed over in person.
