Everyone is using more and more cloud-based services, causing the Public Cloud to grow steadily without people even realizing it. As a cloud enthusiast, I am naturally very happy with these growing possibilities that improve our digital lives.
CHANGING STRATEGY
What I see in our industry as a cloud provider is the growing acceptance of using Public Cloud services. Services that originated in the cloud serve as an example for many of our customers, and they are building a clear cloud-first strategy around this. However, executing this transformation is easier said than done, especially for people and organizations coming from a traditional IT environment. And that is precisely where this transformation needs to take place.
As a cloud provider, we are adapting to this. Of course, Public Cloud must be part of your platform portfolio to be future-proof, but it requires more: an understanding of the customer and the challenges involved in that transformation. Helping them identify the challenges of migrating to the Public Cloud provides a whole new, challenging way of working. The growing services and capabilities of the Public Cloud result in the most innovative solutions—solutions that weren't even possible years ago. And that is what I truly enjoy!
A STRONG PARTNER IS KEY
We are an expert partner for our customers in this changing IT and cloud world, and that requires a strong foundation of tools and expertise to provide the right competencies to fully manage the transformation journey. I am always looking for partners who can help us with this. We previously announced a partnership with CloudNation, but I am pleased that we also have existing partners who look ahead from a technological perspective, such as Cohesity.

For instance, Cohesity recently announced their Data Management as a Service. Based on AWS resources, Cohesity's data platform is now being introduced into the Public Cloud from AWS. All the services we offer from our current Cohesity platform, such as Backup as a Service, Disaster Recovery as a Service, Storage as a Service, and Analytics as a Service, are being made available from AWS. I see this as a major step in creating more integration with our AWS-based services, but also in creating an even more scalable solution for long-term archiving of on-premises data. A migration to the AWS Public Cloud can be made even easier by using the Cohesity data platform as a migration step.
Having partners with a strong focus on the cloud world makes it easier for us to consume and integrate even more services, from which we create the best solutions. Great solutions for the continuous digitalization of the world.

As a cloud enthusiast, I am happy to see the ever-growing possibilities to enable the cloud and make everything in our digital lives better.

The companies with services born in the cloud set an example for many of our customers, and they are building their strategy around this: defining a clear cloud-first strategy. But the execution of the transformation is easier said than done, especially for those with a non-cloud heritage. The real transformation has to be done in those cases.
As a cloud provider, we adapt to that fact. Of course, Public Cloud should be in the platform portfolio of offerings to be future-proof, but it takes more: an understanding of your customer and the processes of their company. Helping them to identify challenges to migrate to the Public Cloud provides a new way of working—and a great new way, I must say. The ever-growing set of services and possibilities from the Public Cloud result in the most innovative solutions that were not even possible some years ago; and that is what I really like.
