You’ll work within the Operations department, in one of our multidisciplinary, customer-centric teams. This team is responsible for all customer-related tasks within our Managed Hosting & Kubernetes services—from setting up custom environments to troubleshooting incidents, handling information requests, and executing (migration) projects.

In this role, you’re responsible for managing the full lifecycle of our customer environments: configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning. You’ll handle complex incidents and perform non-standard changes. You’ll also take part in larger customer projects and support Cloud & Support Engineers in their daily tasks.

The environments we build and manage are either more traditional (virtual machines with a combination of Linux, web servers, and databases) or based on container workloads (often using Kubernetes architecture or Docker containers). More and more of our customers are asking for modern Kubernetes-based architectures or want to transform their existing environments to a new platform—something Fundaments is investing heavily in.

• Higher professional education (HBO) level or equivalent
• A degree in an IT-related field
• At least 5 years of relevant experience with (managed) hosting based on Linux environments
  and/or at least 5 years of experience in setting up and managing Kubernetes environments
• Experience with configuration management (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Flux CD, Argo CD)
• CKA, RHCSA, and/or LPIC certified
• Experience with web servers (e.g., Apache) and database servers (e.g., MySQL) is a plus
• Willing to participate in on-call rotations (approximately 8–10 weeks per year)
• You adhere to the information security management system in place at Fundaments

Competitive salary: Of course, you want to know what this role pays. As a Senior Cloud Engineer at Fundaments, you’ll earn a gross monthly salary between €4,530 and €5,870 based on a 40-hour week. We also offer an attractive pension plan and 25 vacation days, plus a day off on your birthday. Additionally, you’ll receive a monthly net phone allowance of €25 and an internet allowance of €35.
