Fundaments helps the youth of Enschede with a generous donation

Raoul Werger, CEO at Fundaments: ‘Fundaments’ slogan is ‘GO BEYOND. BE THE BEST', last year many children from Enschede were able to get the best out of themselves thanks to our donation. This year, we decided to again donate € 2,000 to Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Enschede, because unfortunately it is still not self-evident for all children to take sports, music or drawing lessons. Something that is very important for talent development and to which we are happy to contribute.’

Jorrit van der Linden, coordinator of the Foundation Leergeld and Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Enschede: ‘Every year, we help nearly 3,000 children in Enschede and process thousands of applications with our volunteers and staff. Besides providing our facilities, we also want children to participate in sports and cultural activities. Sport and culture enrich lives and let children discover other talents of their own.

That is why we cooperate with sports organisations and why we have also recently established cooperation with Enschede's cultural institutions. For instance, they have put together an attractive offer for the Christmas period. Unfortunately, the tightened corona measures are throwing a spanner in the works here, as visiting a museum or theatre is out of the question. What will most probably take place is a ski outing for 90 children in cooperation with Skicentrum Moser, ROC and Sportaal.

What can also be continued are some super fun activities offered by culture and development institution Tetem. Crafting at home with a technology kit or creating a 3D chocolate design from behind your own computer, which is sent to you afterwards. This way, children have a fun and educational activity and who knows, they might get so captivated by technology that they will join the Fundaments team in the future.

Next year, we will undoubtedly provide many facilities and offer fun and educational activities again. Fundaments' donation helps make this possible and we are extremely happy about this! Great to experience how Fundaments is socially involved and makes a wonderful contribution!’

About Stichting Leergeld and Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Enschede

Making ends meet can be challenging. As a result, children are sometimes unable to participate in inner and outer school activities. Together with their parents, the Foundation helps children from Enschede. Parents can apply for a bicycle, computer, school bag or gym clothes, for example, or request compensation for the cost of a swimming certificate, school trip or study week.

Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur (part of Stichting Leergeld Enschede) pays the contribution to a sports or cultural organisation. Think of music or dance lessons, but also football, judo or gymnastics. They also make sure the children have the right clothes and attributes. By covering these facilities, children can develop their knowledge, social skills, emotional skills and their talents in the best possible way to participate fully in society later on as adults.

Due to tightened corona measures, the one-metre-long cheque could unfortunately not be handed over to Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur Enschede in person. Needless to say, it will be handed over personally as soon as this is possible again.
