vCloud Director
Fundaments uses the vCloud Director portal to manage all your servers and applications. This online portal gives our users access to all the cloud building blocks needed to configure the application landscape: servers, networks, and edge devices for firewall, load balancing, and VPN functionality. In addition, standard installations for Linux and Windows Server can be selected from a catalog, and users can also upload their own images: the ideal platform for a virtual datacenter.
Continuous development
This portal is constantly evolving. VMware is continuously implementing more features, with the most recent major development being the transition to HTML5 as a foundation. At Fundaments, we also strive to add as many features as possible regarding all datacenter-related services: backup integration and disaster recovery links are some of the functions we are developing and testing together with our suppliers.
Performance statistics
One of the most recent additions we have included is the ability to display performance statistics for your virtual machines. This integration is now available in the HTML5 portal and provides insight into your server's performance. This is very useful if, for example, historical performance data is needed to analyze application behavior. You can view an overview of CPU usage, memory usage, and disk activity for your Virtual Machine. The periods available for review are half an hour, an hour, a day, and a week.
Viewing statistics
To view the statistics, click on ‘details’ for the desired Virtual Machine in vCloud Director. Then, under ‘monitoring chart’, you will find the performance data for the various components of your Virtual Machine at a specific moment.
