Sovereignty challenges in the Dutch market
Nearly 50% of European organizations store sensitive data in the public cloud, and 64% are moving an increasing amount of privacy-sensitive data there. These trends have raised concerns within the European Union regarding the risk of foreign access to this data, particularly as cloud services are dominated by non-European providers. Consequently, a growing number of regulations have been introduced to control international data flows and prevent unauthorized access by non-European authorities.
Other concerns include general geopolitical uncertainty, cybersecurity threats, and the growing need for security and business continuity. As many as 63% of EMEA organizations consider data sovereignty to be 'extremely important'.
