Their three core products: back office (ERP), point-of-sale systems, and mobility platforms. “Together, they often form the beating heart of our customers’ operations,” says Tim Bethlehem, CEO of Extendas. “That requires an infrastructure that is just as reliable as our software.”
The move to Cloud
Extendas originally started with ERP systems running on premises. Around ten years ago, the development of Cloud products began, including a point-of-sale system and customer portals. Tim explains: “We quickly came to the conclusion that we needed a hosting partner who could offer continuity, security, and scalability. Since then, Fundaments has been hosting and monitoring our systems 24/7. That gives us a great deal of peace of mind. But our customers benefit as well, through easier access, reliability, and high availability (uptime).”
Act quickly, short lines
Although nearly all communication takes place digitally, Extendas appreciates that Fundaments is also physically nearby. “It’s not a must, but it helps. When needed, you can quickly sit down together at the table. That’s simply impossible with a Google or Amazon.”
What is especially valued, however, is the personal contact. “Our technicians can switch directly, simply by phone. And if I need to align something commercially, I can reach out to Dennis, our account manager. Sometimes we just want to brainstorm, for example about sustainability. In those moments, it’s great that Dennis thinks along with us from our perspective, without it immediately turning into a sales conversation.”
Moving along and setting boundaries
The collaboration with Fundaments also proves its value at critical moments. Tim: “They proactively think along about how our software continues to meet the highest security requirements. At the same time, they stay close to their core and do not sell things they do not fully stand behind. I really appreciate that.” Sustainability also plays a role. “Our sector has traditionally been quite polluting and is trying to become greener. Fundaments pays attention to heat management and focuses on sustainable energy. I not only find that personally important, but it is also a positive commercial aspect of our services that we can pass on to our customers.”
