Anti DDoS service; choose accessibility

In practice, many organisations lack the right protection against digital threats. This has several reasons. For example, the search for appropriate protection is still on the to-do list. Or they hope that digital threats won’t affect them. Especially now that digital crime is booming, the risks are high. The number of digital threats is growing every year. It’s about time to look at how to adequately guard yourself.

DDoS attacks make your business unreachable

The DDoS, or Distributed Denial of Service attack, is a very common threat. In such an attack, criminals try to make your services digitally unreachable. This has major consequences for your productivity and service. The principle is simple. During a DDoS attack infected computers send lots of requests to an application or server. This way the server becomes overloaded and inaccessible.

Previously, the ‘sealing’ of the line was the only solution to relieve the server. A side effect, however, is that your people can’t access their email, web or application server. This temporary standstill also has negative effects on business operations. Structural control of this digital crime requires specialist equipment. However, the design and management of this equipment is complex and costly. The DDoS clean-up service from Fundaments provides organisations with accessible access to the necessary protection. It’s a very affordable subscription.

Easily accessible

The DDoS clean-up service from Fundaments ensures that your organisation remains protected and accessible. The DDoS traffic to your environment is not blocked, but ‘cleaned’. This means that ‘good’ traffic can simply reach your service and your organisation can continue to function.

Fundaments redirects traffic to the DDoS clean-up service during a DDoS attack. Here the DDoS and the legitimate traffic are separated, after which the clean traffic goes back to the Fundaments private network (image 1). Your service, website, application or email traffic will therefore continue to work and your employees will notice virtually nothing of the diversion.

The DDoS clean-up service

The DDoS car wash is a central environment with anti-DDoS equipment from reputable brands. The DDoS clean-up service is an initiative of the National Management Organisation for Internet Providers (NBIP). This non-profit foundation was set up more than ten years ago by ISPs that jointly fight against DDoS attacks, among other things. This joining of forces gives the clean-up service great capacity, which is increasing continually.

Service Level

The DDoS clean-up service from Fundaments protects your data against unwanted attacks and offers a 99.9% availability guarantee.

Response Time

The clean-up service detects a DDoS attack fully automatically within five minutes, after which the traffic is automatically guided along the DDoS car wash. Cleaning starts within a few minutes. Because no two attacks are the same, the response time can vary between a few seconds and five minutes. The DDoS clean-up service works 24×7.

Privacy

Naturally, no information is shared about users of the DDoS clean-up service or the number of attacks. Data that passes through the DDoS clean-up service is only examined to improve mitigation. Storage of traffic or flow information for declarations is possible. Sometimes it’s necessary to make ‘data samples’ from DDoS traffic for research purposes, this will always be anonymous. Fundaments information security policy applies.

Conditions

To be able to use the DDoS clean-up service from Fundaments you need at least one (internet) connection with Fundaments. The traffic that is ‘cleaned’ must finally be able to be led to the car wash via a connection. It is therefore not necessary that your data is stored in one of our data centres.

Cost structure

The DDoS clean-up service is available for a fixed amount per month. This amount has been deliberately kept as low as possible so that all Fundaments partners can benefit from this service. Fundaments uses a fair-use policy. We will discuss in case of multiple attacks per month, and additional costs are an option.

Your benefits at a glance:

  • Never unreachable and your people can always reach their email, web or application server.
  • 24×7 protection against DDoS attacks, without having to do anything yourself.
  • Access to the most effective anti-DDoS equipment (parallel and/or in series) and control methods.
  • Fundaments engineers monitor your environment continuously.
  • The DDoS clean-up service is an insurance policy: hopefully it isn’t necessary, but it’s always available.
  • Always have access to an up to date anti-DDoS solution.
  • No high investments in advance and yet an effective anti-DDoS solution.

Modern smart firewall
"We were looking for a solution that would help defend us against every possible vector attack. We really needed a modern, smart firewall and with the Fundaments Next Generation Redundant Firewall offer, based on Fortinet technology, we have got exactly what we wanted. It was a logical choice for us.”

Trusting a partner
"Sometimes specific knowledge is imperative and it isn’t always profitable to acquire this in-house. It’s great to be able to trust a partner who takes that worry away, who’s familiar with the subject and doesn’t immediately send an invoice for every little thing. This partner will have an ongoing conversation with you: what is it you need, how can we tackle this and find a solution? That’s what Fundaments does."
Richard Hagen of the Rolf group
Multiple physical locations
"If the customer wants to have their data stored in several physical locations in view of DR, this is possible. But whether it’s a customised option or well-planned standard options, the customer doesn’t have to worry about a thing. That’s the beauty of the new ways of BU and DR"
Michel Erkens and Alexander van Bruchem of Onguard
Good solution with less costs
“When you look at the connectivity costs, meaning the private connections, as a part of migrating to the cloud, where you no longer need your own hardware or maintenance, your insurance policy is reduced, the company’s energy expenditure goes down and other expenses become smaller, you will see that this is really a good solution.”
Jeroen Bruggeman
Enterprise Administrator at CNS-IT
Security is no.1
At Cobrowser they’ve noticed a huge difference in how companies deal with security. “There are companies who consider this not so important. It’s essential to us to find a partner who takes security seriously. That’s why we’ve chosen Fundaments. Security is a very natural element of our collaboration.”
Frank Leegstra
Director and security officer of CoBrowser
